The Simulation and Game Institute at George Mason University’s Prince William campus will officially open its doors Dec. 10.
The 4,000-square-foot facility will provide offices and studios, research space and a product development lab for individuals, entrepreneurs and companies in the field of simulation, modeling and game design.
Located at GMU’s Enterprise Center, the facility will bring IT software and design firms closer to student talent, provide opportunities for interaction, access to industry experts and mentors, new enterprises and the potential of financial support from foundations and equity partners.
One of only four international affiliates of the Serious Games Institute, the facility also will serve as the applied research, business development and corporate education arm of GMU in support of this fast growing and expanding $80 billion industry. Other affiliates are already established in Singapore, South America and Mexico.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 10 at the GMU Enterprise Center, Bull Run Hall, 10900 University Boulevard, Manassas.
RSVP by Dec. 2 to Carol Foster at cafoster@pwcgov.org or 703-792-5513.
