DC Drywall & Finishing located in Falls Church, VA installed 1000 sq' of laminate floor and only one week after the installation we noticed the floor is lifting approximately 2" in some areas (now 6 areas). Mr. Cruz the owner said I really believe the floor will settle down in time and absolutely refuses to fix because he feels it's not a problem and walked off the job. I feel this is completely untrue and the problem will only get worse in time especially with summer approaching because the floor is flush against the wall and is unable to breathe properly due to expansion.
Dc Drywall and finishing also installed 800 sq' of carpeting, 5000 sq' of drywall and paint which is unfinished, tile to to 2 bathrooms and foyer and our newly installed bathtub has at least 4 chips and scratches and much more damage to list.
Mr. Cruz demanded that we pay the remaining balance of $2500.00 without repairing any of the damages and also threatened my wife and I with placing a mechanics lien on our property.
DC Drywall & Finishing from Falls Church was originally referred to us by http://www.homeadvisor.com for drywall and painting and had 85 plus 5 star ratings so we thought we were getting a quality contractor at a fairly reasonable price.
Turns out HomeAdvisor.com has no record of this contractor having Liability Insurance and is unlicensed to do this size project but referred to us anyway!
I would highly recommend to stay away from DC Drywall and Finishing and Homeadvisor.com for your homes safety!!!
