Police are searching for a man who broke into a house and then tried to enter the homeowners’ bedroom while armed with a baseball bat.
Jerome Antwon Ball, 30, is wanted on a charge of burglary while armed in connection with the Dec. 23 incident.
Police were called to the 2700 block of Winston Court at 1:46 a.m. where the victim said he awoke to the sound of footsteps and was confronted by a stranger when he tried to open his bedroom door.
The burglar ran away and no injuries were reported. The man got into the house through a basement window.
On Jan. 2, a fingerprint match led to the identity of Ball as a suspect in the case, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.
