• Annual Holiday Parade
11 a.m. Market Street & Freedom Drive. The parade theme for 2013 is "Transportation", in recognition of the new Silver Line arriving in Reston. The parade will feature huge balloons, floats, costumes, and music depicting favorite characters and stories, classic to modern. At least 70 groups and 500 participants are anticipated for the Reston Holiday Parade. Grand Marshal for the 2013 is Joe Ritchey, who was selected for his many levels of long term dedication to the Reston community. This year, a Junior Grand Marshal will also lead the parade, honoring Lauren Spar of Langston Hughes Middle School.

12:30 - 4:30 p.m. Photos are $10 each with proceeds benefiting a local non-profit.
• Holiday Tree Lighting & Sing Along
6 p.m. Market Street & Fountain Square. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive on their horse drawn carriage to magically light up Reston Town Center and the holiday tree, followed by a chorus of traditional holiday music led by Reston Chorale and Brass Quintet. Horse Drawn Carriage Rides 6:30 - 10 pm, Located in front of Talbot's on Market Street. $5 per person (children 12 and under are free). All proceeds benefit Volunteer Fairfax.

For more than 12 years the Bull Run Festival of Lights at Bull Run Regional Park has drawn thousands of visitors from hundreds of miles away to Centreville, Virginia, just outside Washington, DC. This year's festival opens November 20th and runs through January 5th, 2014! The Bull Run Festival of Lights is held each year to celebrate the winter holiday season. The event sees more than 30,000 cars each season, and over 130,000 people! Bull Run Festival of Lights is located just off of Interstate 66 in Centreville, on Rt. 29 (Lee Highway), just 3 miles from historic Manassas Battlefield Park.
The Portal Wreath signifying the official start of the beautiful Bull Run Festival of Lights, this display has been part of the show since 2006. Each year a new ornament representing a display in the show will be added to this collection, and the portal wreath is the first in the series.
Santa's Enchanted Lights, with over 40,000 animated lights set to music! This great feature is merely a fraction of what you'll find at this season's Festival of Lights!

Return Saturday for the 68th annual Christmas parade and Sunday for free carriage rides throughout the historic district and the annual merchant open house. Holiday Ornament and Dollhouse Exhibit

Their shine may have lost a little luster, but the antique ornaments on display in a special Manassas Museum holiday exhibit cannot be matched for their nostalgic value. See what ornaments looked like when they were made by hand, rather than produced on factory assembly lines, and glimpse antique handcrafted dollhouses that little girls often found under Christmas trees, in this special exhibit. The Holiday Exhibit is on display through the month of December, and is free with admission.

Back by popular demand, the National Capital Trackers exhibit their festive, magical and truly awe inspiring Christmas landscape at the Winter Wonderland Train Show hosted by the Center for the Arts at the Candy Factory, 9419 Battle St., Manassas, VA 20110.
In lieu of admission a donation of a canned good or new unwrapped toy to benefit SERVE during the holiday season.
